For Whom Are Celia’s Services Intended?

The services provided by Accessibility Library Celia are only for those with a print disability of any kind. A comprehensive list of different print disabilities cannot be provided. Some examples of the most common causes are listed below:

  • dyslexia
  • learning disability
  • visual impairment
  • loss of vision (e.g. in the elderly)
  • mental health reasons
  • intellectual disability
  • cerebral palsy
  • rheumatism
  • multiple sclerosis
  • muscle disorders
  • impaired muscle condition
  • aphasia
  • developmental language disorder
  • attention or concentration deficit disorders
  • visual-spatial perception disorders
  • memory disorders.

Celia’s services are restricted by law only to persons with print disabilities. Poor Finnish or Swedish language skills alone do not grant a right to use books by Celia. The potential customer must have difficulties reading text due to a disability, illness or comparable reason.

When registering for the Celia audiobook service at a library or school, there is no need to provide a certificate of the print disability. The matter will be reviewed orally during the registration process.
