Become a member of Celia

You can become a patron of Celia by filling in the registration form. Print out the form and sign it. Attach a copy of your statement of print disability to the registration form. Post the form to Celia's Services for Learning Materials at this address: Learning material services, Celia, PO Box 20, FIN-00030 IIRIS, Finland.

 

If you do not yet have an authorised statement of your print disability, you can request a statement from someone such as a healthcare professional.

University textbooks

Celia's collections include books about subjects such as history, religion, and law. These books may be borrowed free of charge.

 

The majority of books in Celia's textbook collection are Daisy talking books, which are suitable for everyone with print disabilities. There are also books in Braille and electronic Luetus books for visually impaired students.

Search for books in the Celianet database

The Celianet database can also be used for finding books related to your studies. All books that are available on loan from Celia are catalogued in Celianet, along with fiction and non-fiction.

How to use Celianet:

Select ‘guest user' on the login page.
Open the ‘advanced search' section on the following page.
Using the advanced search, you can search according to the title of the book, the author or the ISBN.
Select the type you are looking for: talking book, Braille or electronic book.

Borrowing books
 

If you want to borrow books from our collection, place an order for the books you want.

When placing your book order, state the following:

• Title of the book
• Author(s) of the book
• Year of publication
• Place of publication
• ISBN
• Dates of exams or courses for which the book is required, if applicable.
• Your educational institution
• Is the book a compulsory course requirement
• If you are a visually impaired student, state whether you want the material in the form of a talking book, Braille or e-book.

If you cannot find the book on Celianet

If you are a visually impaired student and the book you are looking for cannot be found in our collection, you can order the book from us. Preparation and delivery of new textbooks will take approximately 2 months, so make sure you place your order well in advance. Send your order via e-mail to oppikirjapalvelut@celialib.fi
