How to register at Celia

Celia's books are available to those with print disabilities, i.e. people who have difficulties reading printed text.
Print disability can be caused by e.g.

  • being visually disabled
  • various reading and learning disabilities such as dyslexia
  • intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • multiple sclerosis or muscular disabilities.

How to become a student user

The statement must indicate the type of print disability you have. The statement can be signed by a special education teacher or a health care professional such as a doctor, neurologist, speech therapist or neuropsychologist.

If the person issuing the statement completes the registration form on your behalf, he or she can state your print disability directly on the statement issuer's online form (in Finnish).

When you register as a Celia user you will be issued a Login ID and Password to sign in to the Celianet website and start borrowing books. By signing in to the Celianet database you can search for and borrow textbooks that are already available.

If you do not receive Celianet login information when you register as a user, request a Login ID by email from palvelut@celia.fi.

Textbooks for university students are primarily Daisy books with both text and TTS. Books in Braille and electronic textbooks are also produced for visually disabled students as needed.

Borrowed books are meant for your personal use only.
